Nurisha Trust is a non-profit making educational Trust, founded in 1999 by Kianda Foundation, for the promotion of the educational and social welfare of women in Kenya. The Trust was established to provide a focused mechanism for Kianda Foundation to effectively run its vocational training institutions which specialize in hospitality and economic empowerment programs.

To empower and uplift the standards of living of girls and women through provision of quality education.

To promote the education and welfare of women in Kenya, among the people who do not have the opportunity to do so. We achieve this aim through the establishment and management of schools, colleges and training centers for both women and girls, thus developing the general education of the residents of Kenya and in this way relieve them of their poverty and distress.

Institutions under the trust are:

  • Kibondeni College

  • Tewa Training Centre

  • Jahazi Conference Centre

Our projects run in-house hospitality courses for girls who are primary and secondary school graduates as well as outreach programs for rural women. The target groups are economically disadvantaged hence the programs run in the institutions are aimed at improving the standards of living of the women and their families. The Trust is funded by Kianda Foundation, International and Local donors as well as individuals.

We give:

Professional Development 100%
Technical skills 100%
Community outreach 100%

The role of the Management Board is to set up different projects, look for funds, train personnel to look after them and provide training backing until the project is running smoothly.
